Positive Yoga

Yoga positively influences DNA!

As though yoga needed any more evidence of its positive effects on the body, two recent studies found that its effects are far-reaching and even more impressive on the body than researchers initially thought. Yoga is an ancient practice that first surfaced in India and the surrounding countries that were used in accompaniment with religions such as Hinduism and Buddhism.

Yoga has long been touted as an excellent method of reducing stress and improving mental and physical health for those who continuously practiced it. Physically, it can help improve flexibility, strength, your posture, spine protection, immunity, can lower your blood pressure, and has many other functions.

The studies, which were conducted separately at Harvard University and the University of Calgary, found that yoga has an epigenetic effect, which means that it alters the expression of the genes without changing the genetic code itself. There are a number of other activities that have this same effect on the body, such as diet and sleep, but yoga is one of the many that surprised researchers.

At Harvard University, researchers found that yoga can positively change your cellular metabolic functions and improve things like nutrient absorption and the prevention of chronic diseases. The study involved two different groups, one that practiced mindfulness and yoga training and a control group that didn’t practice either. Chris Kilham, advisor to herbal, cosmetic and pharmaceutical companies and a researcher at University of Massachusetts Amherst, said in an in-depth interview with Fox News,

“After eight weeks, blood samples were taken from both groups. The meditation group showed changes in 2209 genes, a very far-reaching effect…. Many of the genetic changes prompted by the yoga practice involved cellular metabolism. This is the capacity of cells to utilize nutrients and oxygen, and to generate energy. Those who practiced the yoga method showed improved cellular metabolism, and better cell function overall.”

Additionally, the Calgary study found that practicing yoga can also extend your life. This is likely an extension of the many benefits that yoga provides to users, as having low stress and being physically and mentally fit can, in general, extend your life.

Remember that these benefits are yielded when you practice yoga regularly, not just sporadically. The long-term effects of yoga and mindfulness are well worth the time put into learning about the practice and doing a few minutes of moves everyday.

New Organ Donors Law

French citizens & new organ donors law

Effective January 1 in the new year, all French citizens are now automatically organ donors even if their family doesn’t approve of the donation. Before the law went into effect, the law required people who wanted to be donors to opt into a program where they were registered. If they were not registered, the family members would make the decision, in which nearly one-third of cases resulted in a refusal to donate.

Now the law works in the opposite way, as all citizens are not automatically considered donors unless they go out of their way to register in the National Rejection Register. This signifies that the citizen, once dead, refuses to donate any of their organs or, if they wish, a specific organ.

France’s biomedicine agency called the change necessary and said, “In the name of national solidarity, the principle of presumed consent was chosen. The law says that we are all donors of organs and tissues, unless we have expressed our refusal.”

A donor can also leave a signed form with a family member that states that they are opposed to donating their organs, which the family member can present at the time of death. Since these forms can be forged, it leaves some question of whether families that are vehemently against organ donation will falsely sign the document. Aside from the legal repercussions of this move, moral consequences should be considered as well. With 19,000 people currently on the organ transplant list, not agreeing to donate a person’s organs postmortem could mean death for one or more citizens waiting for a miracle.

If all else fails, France could consider better https://hindi.werindia.com/education on the benefits of organ donation and addressing the reasons people give for saying refusing to donate. A better educated public could mean a world of difference for patients waiting for an organ and decrease the number of people that register on the refusal list.

bad breath

Tips to stop Bad breath -Halitosis

Have you ever thought – why there is bad breath in the early morning? During the day time, sufficient amount of oxygen naturally goes inside our mouth and keeps the mouth somewhat fresh. Eating, drinking, talking, breathing exercise and other reasons are helps oxygen to get into mouth. Night time the very little amount of oxygen enters mouth and this results in overnight bacterial growth and hence the bad breath in the early morning hours.  Brushing and cleaning mouth helps to get rid of that bad odor!

However, some people have bad breath problem continuously. This is because of various reasons and habits.

What are these reasons and how one can reduce bad breath problem let us see:

  1. Eating onion, garlic, meat, fish, egg, drinking and not cleaning the mouth: The list of breath-offending foods is long, and what you eat affects the air you exhale!
  2. Smoking: Smoking stains your teeth, gives you bad breath and puts you at risk for a host of health problems. Tobacco reduces your ability to taste foods and irritates gum tissues. Tobacco users are more likely to suffer from gum disease. Since smoking also affects your sense of smell, smokers may not be aware of how their breath smells.
  3. Overweight and obesity problems: According to Tel Aviv University researchers there is a direct link between obesity and bad breath: the more overweight you are, the more likely your breath will smell unpleasant to those around you. This is because organisms that live in the gut of obese people may give off a certain, distinctive gas, causing bad breath in the mouths of overweight individuals.
  4. Indigestion problems: As reported in Science Daily, the bacteria known as Helicobacter pylori causes a common ulcer in the stomach, can cause bad breath in the mouth. Another cause of bad breath from the stomach is gastro- esophageal reflux disease. This condition is caused by acid coming back up the esophagus, causing a burning sensation in the chest or throat and leads to bad breath.
  5. Not taking care of tongue: White stuff that you see on your tongue happens as a result of overgrown and swollen papillae on the tongue’s surface. Bacteria and dead cells that lodge between the papillae cause the white coating. Numerous causes encourage white tongue, including alcohol and tobacco use, fever, dry mouth and mouth breathing, dehydration and poor oral care. All these conditions results in bad breath. It is important to clean the tongue when you brush your teeth every day.
  6. Negligence of dental hygiene: Food particles that sit in between teeth will be food for microorganisms. Bacteria thrives in this kind of environment, causing issues like bad breath.
  7. Artificial dental implantation: Artificial implantation results in bad breath sometimes. It is mostly caused by the shape of the crown that traps food either under it or around the gum. Assuming the implant placement was placed in the right location and size, one need to change the crown that has no concave shape, and it should have broad contact with adjacent teeth avoiding food trap. To keep gum healthy around implanted teeth, hydro floss or water pick with peridex or Listerine.
  8. Infections – sinus, tonsils, acidity , tonsils, diabetes, boils in mouth
  9. Respiratory tract infection: Bronchitis or even a cold might be the cause of that bad smell. Respiratory tract infections cause bad breath thanks to nasal or sinus secretions passing into the throat and mouth. Bronchitis, pneumonia, sinus infections and postnasal drip can all lead to bad breath.
  10. Gum diseases: Bad breath that just will not go away or a constant bad taste in your mouth can be a warning sign of advanced gum disease, which is caused by sticky, cavity-causing bacteria called plaque.

How to keep bad breath away?

To know whether you have bad breath, hold your hand in front of mouth- open your mouth and breathe out- Do you smell a bad odor? If your answer is yes, then it is about time that you do something about it.

  • Brush and floss: Brush twice a day and clean between your teeth daily with floss to get rid of bacteria.
  • Take Care of your tongue: Clean tongue using proper tongue cleaner or a mild brush.
  • Use Mouthwash: Use over the counter mouthwash and rinse mouth two times a day.
  • Clean Dentures: Removable dentures should be taken out during night and clean thoroughly before putting them back in mouth cavity.
  • Keep That Saliva Flowing: Saliva helps in chewing and digestion. Chewing sugar-free gum or sugar free candies helps in creating saliva. Saliva keeps mouth wet and takes out the bad breath.
  • Quit smoking: Stop smoking as it is injurious to major organs of the body. It will not only give you better breath, you’ll have a better quality of life.
  • Dental checkup and clean: Make it a habit to visit dentist every six months and monitor your oral hygiene. Follow the instructions and take proper precautions. Regular checkups allow your dentist to detect any problems such as gum disease or dry mouth and stop them before they become more serious.
  • Cure Constipation: Regular bowl movements are a must for curing bad breath. Take foods high in fiber and exercise regularly to prevent constipation.
  • Less sugar intake: Avoid eating candies, cookies and other sweet treats containing sugar. You can use brown sugar instead.
  • Natural stuffs: Chew cardamom, clove, drink fenugreek tea, eat less sugar, drink mint tea – all these help to get rid of bad breath.

After you tried on your own, if the problem persists then it is time to see a doctor. Do not neglect your oral health and hygiene. If bad breath is present, check for cavities or gum disease, the treatment of which often succeeds in eradicating bad breath. Bad breath can leave a person alone as people hesitate to discuss and will avoid any conversation. If your friends, family members or acquaintances are suffering from bad breath, inform them or ask them about their health and direct them to a doctor.

Nestle sugar

Nestle Reinvents Sugar

Nestle “Reinvents” Sugar, Set To Hit Shelves In 2018: The world’s largest food company recently announced that it had reformulated sugar with the hopes of using 40% less sweetener in its candy and sweets, but there’s a catch.

Nestlé, the world’s largest food company, has been the focus of international scrutiny for its exploitation of freshwater resources, use of child slave labor, and severe environmental violations. However, the corporate behemoth, which manages over 8,000 different brands, is making headlines for a different reason this week after announcing that they have “reformulated” sugar. Nestlé scientists claim to have chemically restructured the sugar molecule, creating a new sweetener they claim tastes sweeter in smaller amounts as it dissolves and stimulates taste buds more quickly. This “breakthrough” could allow them – and other food companies – to significantly reduce the amount of sugar in their products. Nestlé has said that they will be cutting sugar content by as much as 40% in some products once they begin introducing the new sweetener in 2018. The “reinvented” sugar – dubbed “sugar lite” by the New York Times – would be used chiefly in candy products as, for still unknown reasons, it cannot be used to sweeten soda or other beverages.

“It is sugar, but it is assembled differently so it can disassemble easily in your mouth with less going into your gastrointestinal tract,” said Dr. Stefan Catsicas, the company’s chief technology officer, in a New York Times report.

However, Nestlé has released hardly any information about their discovery and how it was achieved. Citing patent concerns, Nestlé has dodged specifying the processed sugar undergoes in order to become “sugar lite,” instead offering only absurdly vague explanations. Nestlé’s chief technology officer (and former GlaxoSmithKline executive) told the New York Times:

“Dr. Catsicas compared a normal crystal of sugar to a shoe box, where the box is made of sugar and everything inside it is also made of sugar. The new sugar, he said, will be processed to have the same sugar exterior — though it may be a globe instead of a box — to dissolve in the mouth. Because less sugar is inside, less goes to the stomach.”

To those who are wise to Nestlé’s past disregard for the safety of their products, this “explanation” clearly seems like smokes and mirrors as it essentially says nothing except that the structure of the new sugar is different. Should the same company that knowingly sold lead-contaminated food in India be trusted to sell a modified sugar, especially if the process of its manufacture is a complete mystery? It will also be interesting to see what regulatory processes, if any, will be needed to approve “sugar lite” for human consumption. Though Nestlé argues that its new product is technically still sugar, no one can know for certain until more information is known regarding how it is produced. However, even if the new sugar is proven to have dangerous health effects, it is unlikely that US regulatory agencies will ban it as they, in the past, have approved deadly sweeteners, such as aspartame, despite warnings from the government’s own scientists.
