Vegan menu

Why Vegan Menu was Introduced in a Restaurant?

This restaurant owner and his wife adopted vegan diets and, shortly after, transitioned the restaurant they run to be 100% plant-based.

Cheese, meat, and sour crème might seem like necessary staples for good Mexican food, but restaurant owners Lily and Aurelio Arias are proving that these ingredients aren’t essential for cuisine to be delicious. After eschewing all animal products, the duo transitioned the menu of their restaurant, El Palote, to be 100% vegan. Located in Dallas, Texas, it’s worth flocking to if you’re in the area and crave healthy Mexican fare.

The couple’s transition to plant-based eating began nine years ago, shortly after Aurelio suffered a heart attack. According to Dallas News, Aurelio “found an old book his wife had bought from kids who were selling them for a fundraiser. The book’s first chapter talked about the harmful effects of an animal-product-based diet.”

After learning more about the benefits of a plant-based diet, the restaurant owner decided to adopt the lifestyle wholeheartedly.

“Immediately — from there — I made the decision to not eat animal products,” Aurelio said.

His wife, Lily, began making vegan versions of his favorite foods, including enchiladas, flautas, tortas, and tamales. Within days of suffering from a heart attack, Aurelio began to feel much better. It’s because of this, we suspect, he’s continued on with the lifestyle.

Not long after Aurelio excluded all animal products – including dairy, cheese, fish, and meat – from his diet, Lily went vegan to support her husband. She said, “I became vegan out of love for him.”

Because they were both eating vegan and because they want to support a thriving populace, they soon after switched their restaurant’s menu to a plant-based one. Lily said they informed their customers “we love you as clients, but we want to take care of you.” She also told them “that [non-vegan] food is not good for your health.’”

The vegan and vegetarian lifestyle might still be stigmatized in areas like the U.S. and U.K., but the movement is growing at an incredible rate. According to TheRawFoodWorld, 16 million people are now vegan or vegetarian in the U.S. alone. And in Britain, the number of vegans has risen by 360% in ten years.

Though there is much dispute on the necessity to exclude all animal products from one’s diet, there is plenty of research and anecdotal evidence suggesting that limiting one’s meat, dairy, and cheese intake and consuming more fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and legumes can be incredibly beneficial for one’s health. Facial hair removal:

  1. Apply dry turmeric powder to face. Avoid eye area.

For glowing skin:

For years, mothers and grannies have used besan or gram flour to treat minor skin problems, even though many cosmetic products are available in the market today.

Besan  is good for all skin types, along with other ingredients, adds that perfect glow to your face, here’s how.

  • Make a pack of gram flour (besan) with turmeric, lemon drops and some milk cream (malai).
  • Apply this over your face and keep it on for 15-20 minutes
  • Wash off with tap water and pat dry.
  • It is a known fact that orange peels do more good than the orange itself. Another way to add radiance to your skin is by using orange peels with ground pink dal (masoor ki daal)
  • Add a little honey or curd to orange peels and dal and grind well to make a paste.
  • Apply this paste on your face and keep it for 20 minutes.
  • Wash off with tap water and pat dry.

Grandma says try these skin care techniques to remove dead skin cells.

Lemon juice contains citric acid which works as a natural exfoliant and helps remove dead cells.

  • Mix the juice of 1 lemon with 1 tablespoon sesame oil

Another skin fair skin recipe that grandma suggests is using our beloved turmeric and honey.

  • Take a tsp each of turmeric and honey and mix with a tsp of glycerin
  • Apply this on the face and arms – leave it for 10-15 minutes.
  • Wash face and arms using warm water.
  • Repeat this once a week or once in two weeks to keep fair skin!

Here is a royal recipe for all that encourages skin clearing, brightening, and softening of the skin, What you need for this?

Ingredients:

  1. 2 tbsp. gram flour (besan)
  2. A pinch of turmeric (haldi)
  3. A pinch of ground sandalwood
  4. 2 tbsp. of rose water
  5. 2 tbsp. of milk

Directions:

  • Mix all of the ingredients together to create a paste.
  • Apply it to your face and keep it on until it dries (15–20 minutes).
  • Rinse off with warm water.

For dry, itchy skin:

  • Bathe in your breakfast! Although oatmeal is a centuries-old skin soother, researchers only recently recognized the avenanthramides in oats as the key compounds that calm inflamed, itchy skin. Put whole oats in a clean, dry sock. Seal the open end with a rubber band, and then drop the sock into a warm or hot bath. Soak yourself for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Reduce salt intake – salt causes more dryness by reducing water content in the body that causes dry skin itching.
  • Apply coconut oil or sesame oil everyday and take bath after an hour.
  • You can also use turmeric, glycerin and honey mix to keep away dryness of the skin.
  • Add few drops of coconut oil in the water that you are going take bathe from. This keeps skin moisture and reduces itching.

Manuka Honey

Miracle Manuka Honey!

Everyone knows the health benefits of honey. It is energy booster, it is replacement for sugar, it is a good preservative, cough suppressant, dandruff control agent, useful in treating wounds and burns, good for skin and many more.

Except for infants it is proven to be good for all. There is a special honey namely Manuka honey obtained by bees visiting this particular bush – Manuka bush in Australia and New Zealand has more power than other honey types. What is so special about Manuka honey? Read more on… Healthylife.werindia.com

Not only does it kill bacteria, but it prevents them from building up an immunity – a major problem with most antibiotics today.

In 2009, scientists revealed a study that found a honey better than all antibiotics out there. It was published by the European Journal of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases in June of 2009, and was incredibly significant during a time when many antibiotics out there were failing against “superbugs”.

This unbelievable honey is called Manuka honey. Bees forage on the nectar of the New Zealand “Manuka bush” or “jelly bush” (Leptospermum Scoparium). These trees are native to Australia and New Zealand alone.

The honey has become so popular, in fact, that shortages of Manuka honey have been reported. Fake products have been sold due to the high demand, causing New Zealand Manuka producers to get a trademark protection (UMF).

MANUKA KILLS MRSA AND OTHER ANTIBIOTIC RESISTANT BUGS

What’s amazing about Manuka honey is that not only does it kill bacteria instantly, no bacteria it has encountered is able to adapt to it. None of the superbugs killed by the honey were able to build up immunity; a current major problem with today’s antibiotics.

According to Dr. Dee Carter of the University of Sydney’s School of Molecular and Microbial Biosciences, there are compounds like methylglyoxal in the honey that cause a multi-system failure in bacteria.

The Australian researchers who developed the study concluded that the honey “killed every bacteria or pathogen they tested it on. [It can be] applied topically to fight against infections of the skin like cuts and insect bites or taken internally”.

WHAT CAN MANUKA HONEY TREAT?

WebMD states that Manuka honey is marketed for preventing and treating cancer, reducing high cholesterol, reducing systemic inflammation, treating diabetes, treating eye, ear and sinus infections and treating gastrointestinal problems. Manuka honey is incredibly useful for treating skin wounds and leg ulcers.

A recent study suggests that the honey can be used to prevent gingivitis by reducing plaque build-up, and has been approved by the National Cancer Institute to reduce inflammation of the esophagus caused by chemotherapy.

WHERE CAN YOU BUY YOURSELF THIS SUPER HONEY?

Supply is in short order due to high demand and many scammers have taken advantage of the situation. Don’t buy Manuka honey that doesn’t have the ‘UMF’ – or Unique Manuka Factor – trademark.

Only genuine Manuka honey has the phytochemical property derived from the Manuka bush, giving it its bacterial fighting properties. However, genuine manuka honey can still be found in health stores or online at Amazon, or through NZ or Australian markets.
