Why Walk Away From A Relationship?

All of us face this issue of coping up with situations and compromising with life.  In order to keep the peace in our life as well as in the life of the other person, sometimes we need to take a tough decision of walking away from a troubled relationship. It is difficult to breakup relationship because we are not made of stones or we do not want to hurt anybody’s feelings.  However, if the relationship is turning out to be very sour and one cannot manage to keep up with another person for various reasons it is better to walk away. Sometimes we forgive people to keep peace of mind.  If you feel that, you tried hard to keep up the relationship and it did not work out then talk to the person before coming to a decision.

Some of the circumstances and situations where we have to give a second thought about keeping up a relationship are the reasons many of us experience in our lives. Sometimes it is simply unhealthy to oneself to continue taking part in a cancerous relationship.

1. Constant arguments and fights: Arguments and fights that happen because of small reasons can be reconcilable. If a person constantly picks up the fight with negative comments and anger for every single reason then, the relationship leads nowhere and it will be filled with negativity. The person who is at receiving end has to spend time in proving and defending oneself and constantly has to be under radar. If this becomes routine and intense and, if the life path is unclear with sadness then it is time to think what to do in your life. When the bad outweighs the good, when the mental stress is constant, the arguments habitual and the weight of the burden, being carried is too heavy — it may be time to walk away.

2. Being Judgmental: Some relationships suffer because of constant judgment of one person. Some people have the habit of judging and concluding about anything and pass harsh comments all the time. If a person is, constantly criticizing and passing comments even after knowing the reason of a partner or a friend for not being able to handle something then it is time to think what actions one should take. Because this not only results in troubled relationship but also will have negative impact on the growth of the person who is at receiving end. Being judgmental all the time is not good. People who are judgmental often do it knowingly as they may be jealous or expect perfection from the partner.

3. Abusive: Mental or physical torture or abuse is another strong reason to walk away from the relationship. Again, when the bad outweighs the good, when the mental and physical stress is constant, and the weight of the burden being carried is too heavy — it may be time to walk away.

4. Convenience and desire: The relationships happen sometimes because of the convenience. This type of relationship will not lost longer. If there is no desire to live with a partner and relationship is materialistic, then it is time to think what is best for both of you. Similarly, any relationship in which you realize one or both of you is looking to the long-term when your desired lifestyles and plans are inherently different.

5. Anxiety: When being in someone’s presence raises anxiety level through the roof, but you spend time with them anyway because you feel obligated – it is time to start thinking what is best for you. Anxiety is not good for you and may result in severe health issues

6. You are optional: When someone is treating you like an option in their life and not giving any preference, then move away. Your constant touch with them or your presence does not make any difference to them then walk away. There is no reason to be around with the person.

7. Idea of being in love: When you’re more in love with the idea of being in love than with an individual then it is not fair to give wrong impression to another person. Do not spoil life of two individuals – it is better to move away.

8. When someone is taking control of your life: If you feel that someone is making all decision and taking control of every move of yours – time to wake up and make a decision. Life is yours and why to handover the remote to someone else. If you feel that your self – respect and self worth is suffering in the hands of another person then take a decision.

9. False promises and lies: No relationship will survive on meaningless and false promises that cannot be kept. Similarly lies cannot be basis for relationship. It may be with family members, siblings, friends or life partners. If you cannot keep up promises then don’t promise. Being honest is key in a relationship. If you find out that these two are not in your relationship – well, think changing the person or take a decision.

Home Remedies For Yellow Nails

Grandma’s home remedies for yellow nails: Not everyone gets yellow nails. Apart from some medical conditions, personal habits can cause yellow nails too.  Personal habits like – painting nail using red, orange and yellow may leave yellow stain in nails. A chemical compound-called ‘5-fluorouracil’ is responsible for the yellow stain. smoking, regular use of nail polish, and some medications (like tetracycline & 5-fluorouracil) can also cause a yellow discoloration of the nails.

If the yellow stain that you might have is due to excess use of nail polish or smoking then, grandma has few home remedies to turn your nails to white using simple methods.

Lemon juice : Take a cup of lemon juice and dip finger tips in the juice. Allow it to soak for 10-15 minutes. Daily practice this remedy for few more days. Stain will gradually disappear.

Lemon juice and baking soda: Mix 1 Tbs of hydrogen peroxide with 2 & 1/2  Tbs of baking soda to prepare a paste. Apply small amount of the paste on fingernails and let it soak the nails for few minutes. Wash hands and nails using water.   Dry hands and apply olive oil or sesame oil on nails and cuticles.

Hydrogen peroxide: in a bowl mix water and hydrogen peroxide. Soak fingertips in the solution for few minutes and rinse in cold water. Dry hands and apply olive oil or sesame oil on nails and cuticles.

Apple cider vinegar: Use ACV as a cleaner for finger nails. To one cup of lukewarm water add one cup of apple cider vinegar. Mix well. Soak fingertips in the bowl containing this mix. Wash your hands using cold water. Dry hands and apply olive oil or sesame oil on nails and cuticles.

Toothpaste: Hydrogen peroxide is one of the ingredient of toothpaste. Use toothpaste that has 3% or less hydrogen peroxide as content to apply on fingernails. Leave it for few minutes and scrub nails using a soft nailbrush followed by a wash using warm water.

Lemon, honey and olive oil: Take a teaspoon on olive oil and add a teaspoon of honey to it. Mix these two ingredients well and apply this mixture only on your cuticles and not on your nails Now apply lemon juice onto your nails using a cotton ball. Allow it to stay there for about 15 minutes and then wash off with some lukewarm water.

Lemon and glycerin: Take equal proportions of glycerine and lemon juice. Mix well and apply this mixture on your nails. Leave this mixture on for about 15 minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm water.  Apply little glycerin on fingernails and leave it for some time. Glycerine acts as a moisturizer and protects the nails.

Prevention:

  • Apply a clear base coat of polish before applying darker colored nail polish. Base protects the nail from absorbing the yellow stain.
  • For few days avoid applying nail polish – let nails regain natural color to give back healthy look.
  • Quit smoking: Smoking anyway is injurious to health. Nicotine content in cigarettes can cause yellow stain in teeth, fingernails and discolor lips. A few weeks after one stop smoking nails will regain the natural color.
  • Avoid artificial nails: Artificial nail wearers should watch for reaction to the adhesive as well as bacterial growth that can cause your nails to take on a yellowy-green hue.
  • Practice good nail hygiene and keep nails and cuticles hydrated by applying moisturizer almost daily. Try petroleum jelly or olive oil, or choose a thick, creamy lotion that contains lactic acid or urea to help prevent cracking and yellowing.
  • Diet: Consume foods that contain good amount of protein. Include all soy, dairy, grain products to your routine diet including fresh fruits and vegetables.

Venus Williams Credits Vegan Diet with Helping Her Combat Auto-Immune Disease

“I literally couldn’t play tennis anymore,” said Williams. A new diet, however, proved successful in helping her combat a common autoimmune condition.

In 2011, tennis competitor Venus Williams was diagnosed with Sjögren’s syndrome, a fairly common autoimmune disease. That newly discovered information explained why she was suffering from dry eye and dry mouth, as well as crushing joint pain and fatigue. Though she didn’t want to stop playing the sport, she was forced to withdraw from the 2011 U.S. Open in the second round due to the painful symptoms.

She told Motto:

“I literally couldn’t play tennis anymore. […] Because it was starting to take away what I loved, I had to make some changes, I had to change my life. Thankfully, I was able to find something that helped me get back to doing what I loved.”

After consulting with various experts and adopting a drastically different diet, she returned to the court and is able to follow her passion once again. The latter part of the overwhelming change involved Williams opting to eat a completely raw and vegan diet, which involves eliminating all animal products and foods cooked above 118 degrees F.

Proponents of the lifestyle claim that the diet is least offensive to the body, as it maximizes health due to the rich enzyme and nutrient content of plants which haven’t been denatured due to heat. And, it involves more than eating 10 bananas in one sitting to stay full. Using tools such as a food processor, blender, and dehydrator, one can replicate satisfying dishes such as lasagna, pizza, zucchini pasta, and even desserts!

“Once I started I fell in love with the concept of fueling your body in the best way possible,” commented Venus. “Not only does it help me on the court, but I feel like I’m doing the right thing for me.”

The tennis superstar credits the strict diet with changing her whole life. It changed the pace that I live at. It changed everything,” she claims. Of course, there were challenges. Explained Williams:

“There are definitely challenges, though, but it’s about how you face them and how you come on top so you can live in a way that is acceptable to you. So, it has been wonderful to still do what I love. And even though I still have issues, it doesn’t mean they’re going to stop me.”

In order to maintain mental sanity and a healthy love of food, the athlete confided that she’s pretty relaxed when it comes to substituting alternates or spicing up a dish with foods like “pan-fried garlic.” It’s about balance, and that’s why Williams recommends an 80/20 rule (or 90/20, or 70/30), which means 80% clean eating and 20% cheat foods – or, whatever ratio works for the individual adhering to new dietary principles.

“Be good most of the time, and sometimes just don’t go to the gym, or have that bag of chips. But if you’re being healthy most of the time, then that helps to keep a balance so you can meet your goals, whatever those are,” she divulged.

The overall take away from the interview with Williams is that diet does play a major role in one’s healing process and that a plant-based diet may just work wonders when it comes to reducing inflammation in the body. Corn Cutlet Recipe - Baked/Fried

Corn Cutlet Recipe – Baked or Fried

Looking for a  quick, easy party snack item? Here is one yummy snack – Corn cutlet. You can bake or deep fry this snack. It is good school lunch for kids and an evening snack item too.

Total cooking time is about 40 to 45 minutes.

Ingredients :

1. Potatoes – 4-5

2. Corn kernels – 1/2 cup

3. Chili Powder – 1/2 tsp

4. Green chilli (chopped)- 1/2 tsp

5. Salt – as needed

6. Asafoetida – a pinch

7. Carrot – grated 2 Tbs

8. Cilantro/coriander leaves chopped – 1/4 cup

9. Oil for frying

10. Broken cashew – 10-12

11. Bread crumbs

Instructions: You can either deep fry cutlets or bake them.

 If you are deep frying the cutlets then,

1. Boil the potatoes, remove the skin and mash them in a bowl.

2. To mashed potatoes -add corn kernels, chili powder, coriander leaves, carrot, green chilli, cashew, asafetida and salt. Mix well.

3. Prepare equal sized balls from the mix and flatten them in hand or you flatten them to the shape that you want.

4. Dust bread crumbs on both sides of cutlet or simply roll them on breadcrumbs.

5. In a frying pan, heat cooking oil on medium flame and drop the flattened mix.

6. Fry them to golden brown color on both sides.

7. Take out from the oil and transfer to paper towel to remove excess oil.

8. Serve hot corn cutlets hot with tomato ketchup or green chutney or coconut chutney.

If you do not want to fry the cutlets and would like to bake then use a oven to bake:

1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees C.

2. Mix all the above ingredients together nicely as in above steps (1 to3)

3. Roll cutlets in breadcrumbs.

4. Line the baking tray with foil paper.

5. Grease the foil paper using little oil.

6. Bake the cutlets for 15 mins on one side, flip and bake for another 15 mins until light brown on both the sides.

7. Serve hot cutlets with side dish of your choice.

7) Exercise every day, almost an hour of workout helps to retain strength and confidence.

8) Do not skip breakfast. Breakfast keeps you energetic and motivated.

9) Follow low-fat, low-sugar, low-sodium and low-carbohydrate diet.

10) To avoid belly fat, drink good amount of water.

11) Stick to the changes, which you made during weight loss regime, make it a habit and make it a life style.

12) Talk to people who have same mindset as yours and get motivated. Motivate others too.

13) Get enough amount of sleep. Sleep reduces inflammation and gives your body the rest it is needed. Lack of sleep can lead to agitation and over eating.

14) Stop dieting! Many weight loss diets tend to be more specific and are for a limited amount of time. Continue with healthy food habit and healthy diet – let it be new normal.

15) Continue including fruits, cereals, vegetables in your new normal.

16) Stop deep – frying, instead learn baking or steam cooking.

17) Don’t binge eat. If you eat snacks (which we all do), consume less and set a limitation.

18) Understand your metabolism. Your body may be struggling to adjust to new weight. The changes you make after weight loss should be gradual and constant.

19) Keep continuing a food journal. What food regime you designed for your weight loss might be little different from the weight loss management. Understand the calories in the food you eat to maintain the weight.

20) Learn to love yourself – love your new body. Keep it safe from the odds and keep it safe and healthy.

Ultimately, it is in our hand that we need to put a control on our obesity. The realization has to happen that if we cannot make up our mind to maintain good weight and health we are the sufferers. Let us bear in our mind that not all the happiness of life is confined to food alone. Happiness is also having a healthy body with healthy weight.
