Vitamin C, WBC and Immune System
Vitamin C is present in all citrus fruits. We should be regular in consuming Vitamin C rich foods Reason is, Vitamin C increases a protein called interferon that protects our blood cells from viruses. During cold season we rush to buy Vitamin C. To improve immune system and to maintain WBC we need Vitamin C all the time.
Vitamin C stimulates production of WBC. However, to decrease and maintain the WBC count we need Vitamin C. Vitamin C helps to regulates the WBC level in the body. Too much of WBC indicates the underlying health condition. When there is no disease, WBC count will be 1% of the total blood in human system.
