Green Apple Chutney Recipe

Green apples can be more sour than sweet. If you have green apple at home, you can use it to prepare Indian style chutney.

Green apples are rich in fiber, which can help promote fullness and support healthy digestion. They contain vitamin C and antioxidants that help protect cells from damage and support the immune system. Their high water content may aid hydration and make them a refreshing, low-calorie snack. Green apple chutney is one way to consume the fruit with snacks. Here is the recipe-

Ingredients:

  1. Green apple- 2
  2. Red chili powder -3 tsp (as per your taste)
  3. Salt – as per taste
  4. Fenugreek seeds – 3 Tbsp
  5. Asafetida -1 tsp
  6. Jaggery – 2 medium size
  7. Lime juice – 1 tsp
  8. For seasoning – oil, mustard, asafetida

 

Preparation:

  1. Wash and cut green apple into smaller pieces
  2. Dry roast fenugreek seeds till the color changes to brown and starts giving aroma. Once it cools prepare powder of roasted seeds.
  3. Add powdered fenugreek seeds, red chili powder, salt, lime juice and asafetida to green apple pieces, mix well.
  4. Add powdered jaggery and grind apple piece with all ingredients to a smooth paste.
  5. Taste, and if required adjust salt.
  6. Season with mustard and asafetida.
  7. Serve green apple chutney as a side dish with rice, curd rice, bread, upma and snacks.
