Many reports are indicating that this fall season there is surge in Covid-19 cases. Flu season affects millions of people every year and this year coronavirus pandemic is adding to the existing pain. Cold weather, school openings, and flu season are adding more fuel to the Covid-19 and there are more cases reported in recent days.

A new variant of Covid-19 has been reported in South Africa and classified as B.1.1.529 a variant of concern. It is named as OMICRON. As of November 26th many countries have halted air travel from southern Africa to slow the spread of the Omicron.

November month is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month and the third Thursday, 18th of November is World Pancreatic Cancer Day. To educate, inspire and empower people regarding the pancreatic cancer this month is chosen as pancreatic cancer awareness month.

This week India has achieved a great milestone with covid vaccine administration. On January 16th, 2021 the first Covid vaccine was given. Finally, long awaited Malaria vaccine is here to protect children. In a major medical breakthrough, World Health Organization (WHO) recommended World’ first Malaria vaccine. Also known as RTS,S dubbed Mosquirix is recommended to use for sub-Saharan Africa and other regions where malaria is a common disease. WHO’s this recommendation is based on the results from an ongoing pilot project in Kenay, Malaawi and Ghana that has reached more than 800,000 children.

Center For Disease Control- CDC of United States has issued a new health alert this week urging nursing and pregnant women to get Covid-19 vaccine. As per CDC many laboratories confirmed Covid-19 infection in many pregnant women including more than 22,000 hospitalized cases and 161 deaths. Since the pandemic began the highest number of pregnant patients death reported in this year August.

International yoga day is celebrated on June 21st every year. This year the theme for yoga day is “yoga and well being”. Yoga which helps in wellbeing and mindfulness has shown from time to time that it can only have positive influence on humans.
