Enhanced Blood Flow
Certain yoga poses improve circulation throughout the body. Enhanced blood flow can prevent the buildup of arterial plaque, which stiffens blood vessels. Regular yoga practice keeps blood vessels more responsive and flexible.
Improvement of lipid profile:
Regular yoga practice has been linked to improved levels of cholesterol and triglycerides. High levels of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol (“bad” cholesterol) and triglycerides are risk factors for the development of atherosclerosis. By improving the lipid profile, yoga may help reduce the rate of plaque accumulation.
