Steel-Cut Oats
Also known as Irish oats or coarse oats
- Processing: Whole oat groats are chopped into pieces, minimally processed.
- Benefits:
- Highest in fiber and nutrients due to minimal processing.
- Lower glycemic index (GI), leading to more stable blood sugar levels.
- More filling, making them great for appetite control.
- Drawbacks:
- Longer cooking time (20–30 minutes).
- Chewier texture, which some may not prefer.
