For Kids -Be A Buddy, Not A Bully
Kids – Do you know that you have superpowers to make school a happier place for everyone? It is true! Here are some awesome ways we can all help stop bullying and be great friends to each other.
Know the rules:
Every school has rules about being kind, and everyone — kids and grown-ups — has to follow them. If you’re not sure what counts as bullying, just ask a teacher!
Be kind like a superhero:
Being kind is a superpower anyone can have! Say hi to someone sitting alone, share your crayons, or give someone a compliment. Small acts of kindness make a BIG difference.
Speak up, speak out:
If you see bullying happening — to you or to someone else — telling a trusted grown-up isn’t tattling, it’s being brave! Some schools even have a special box where you can write it down if talking feels scary.
Grownups are on your team:
Teachers and school staff are trained to help. They want to know when something’s wrong, so they can help make it right.
Adults are watching out for you:
On the playground, in the hallway, on the bus — there are grown-ups keeping an eye out to help keep everyone safe.
Everyone belongs:
Every single kid is special, no matter what they look like, where they’re from, or what they like to do. A great school is one where everyone feels like they belong.
Solve problems like a pro:
Disagreements happen — that is normal. Learning to talk it out calmly, take turns, and listen to each other helps solve problems without hurt feelings.
Be smart online too:
Bullying isn’t just in person — it can happen online too. Always be kind in messages and games, and if someone is mean to you online, tell a grown up and don’t reply back.
If you have been hurt, you will be heard:
If bullying happens to you, it is never your fault. Tell an elder you trust. They will listen, help you feel safe, and figure out what to do next.
Home plus school means team up:
Parents and teachers talking to each other helps catch problems early, so you get support both at school and at home.
Buddy up:
Ask about buddy programs or peer mentors at your school — having an older student to talk to can make a big difference when things feel hard.
Kindness gets noticed:
When you are kind, helpful, or brave enough to stand up for someone, that deserves a gold star! Kindness is contagious — the more we see it, the more we do it.
Remember- You have the power to make someone’s day better. A smile, a kind word, or standing up for a friend can change everything. Let’s build a school where everyone feels safe, happy, and loved!
