Strategies of WHO: World Health Organization framework convention on tobacco control provides strong, concerted response to the global tobacco epidemic and its enormous health, environmental, social and economic costs. WHO introduced MOPWER technical package to increase public awareness, in line with key demand reduction measures of the convention. Key strategy in this approaches are – creating smoke free indoor public places, public transport, workplaces, banning tobacco advertisement, promotion and sponsorship, increasing taxes on tobacco products, imprinting large public warnings on tobacco products , monitoring tobacco-use and prevention policies, preventing and controlling chronic respiratory diseases. In addition, another strong strategy is helping those tobacco users to quit smoking .
