Phthalates  are also present everywhere and ofcourse main source are plastic items. Phthalates are also known as pdf.

These chemicals act as binding agents and makes plastic more flexible.

CDC of US recommended to study this chemical to find out the effect on humans and it resulted in CDC warning on phthalates due to its negative impact on health. A report “Chronic Hazard Advisory Panel on Phthalates” (CHAP on pdf) was finalized in 2014.

Health concerns of using phthalates: Class of phthalates are responsible for several negative influences on human health. DiNP, DEHP, DnBP, BBP are few examples of phthalates that are present in most of the items.

Phthalates are present in: Vinyl flooring, hair care, body wash, cosmetics, fragrances, cleaners and even in food including milk. DEHP is a free lipophilic (fat soluble) phthalate. Milk absorbs DEHP from package and makes humans to this dietary exposure.

Go for natural products. Reduce use of cosmetics. Try homemade facial masks, lip gloss. Shampoos can be replaced with natural shampoos. Use phthalate free containers for milk storage. There are many such options are available with increasing awareness.
