Alkaline diet is healthy and it also encouraged us to eat more vegetables, fruits and plant based foods. However consuming alkaline food does not reduce acidity.
Our blood is slightly alkaline and stomach is acidic. Food that we eat does not affect the way our system balancing alkalinity or acidity. This will be done by kidney and lungs!
These two control our system and maintain acid-alkali balance and maintains pH of blood. Our body goes through constant and incredible length to maintain pH.
It happens through breathing. Carbon dioxide that we breath out every few seconds rids the body of acid.
The other way body maintains pH is through skin and urine. Kidneys function helps to hold onto bicarbonate in the precise proportion.
