Asthma and tobacco usage : Many school going children who are smokers are at high risk of developing asthma . Or if they already have asthma their asthma condition worsens. It is a chronic disease of lung and air passage. The inflammation and recurrent breathlessness and wheezing are symptoms of asthma. According to WHO nearly, 235 million people currently suffer from asthma. Tobacco smoke inhalation is the major factor in developing asthma or it is the high risk factor. People who already have respiratory problems can develop acute asthma due to tobacco and it can contribute to work disability and emergency care. One in nine asthma deaths is attributed to smoking. Quitting smoking and use of tobacco is one way to improve breathing.
